England cruised to another qualification victory last night as they saw off Malta at Wembley.
An own goal followed by yet another England goal for Harry Kane put the seal on an otherwise dismal performance from the Three Lions.
Of course, Kane is always the star of the show for England in front of goal. But eyes from Tottenham fans might not have been on Kane for once and instead on reported target, Marc Guehi.
Tottenham are apparently keen on Guehi. The Crystal Palace defender continues to grow in stature and was once again solid enough against Malta.
And the national media also seemed content with Guehi’s efforts as well.

English media praise Marc Guehi v Malta
A number of publications had positive words for Guehi, with the following high-profile outlets singing the defender’s praises.
“Marc Guehi 6 – Saw out the whole game and was solid. Could have got a little tighter to Malta’s runners when the minnows did find themselves on the attack,” The Standard wrote.
“Marc Guehi 7 – Had very little to do in the England defence with his side dominating possession in midfield and Malta providing little threat. Could have open up play ahead of him more,” The Express wrote.
“Marc Guehi 7 – Recovery pace was needed one or twice and this was another impressive showing, even making allowance for the standard of opposition,” The Mail wrote.
Tottenham are not alone in their pursuit of the £50m-rated Guehi. Arsenal are also thought to be admirers while former club Chelsea have kept a watching brief ever since he left.
Based on last night’s comfortable showing for England and his continued rise in consistency playing for Palace, it’s little wonder that Spurs and more want him.
Guehi, then, looks destined to get himself a big move before long.
