'Better project': Mudryk told to choose 'more attractive' Chelsea over Arteta's Arsenal
Stan Collymore has claimed that Mykhaylo Mudryk should choose Chelsea over Arsenal, as the race for his signature continues to rumble on.
Mudryk is at the centre of a tug of war battle between Arsenal and Chelsea. Both clubs want to sign the Ukrainian, with differing reports of who might end up winning the race.
So far, Arsenal are thought to be confident and the player himself has apparently decided the Gunners are his best bet.
But according to Stan Collymore, Chelsea are the more ‘attractive’ proposition and Mudryk should choose them.
“I know some fans will argue that considering where both clubs are at the minute, if he were to choose the Blues over the Gunners, it’ll only be for the money, and that may well be true, but for me, Chelsea is still the more attractive project,” Collymore wrote for CaughtOffside.
“If I had the choice, I’d choose Chelsea over Arsenal and that’s not me dismissing the good work Mikel Arteta and Arsenal are doing, but I just think over a three or four-year period, the Blues are the better project and the club more likely to consistently compete for silverware – so all that being considered, I wouldn’t be surprised if Mudryk ended up at Stamford Bridge.”
TBR’s View: Arsenal surely better than Chelsea right now
While Collymore’s comments here have some credence, surely Arsenal are the team to move to right now?
For one, they might win the league. Secondly, Arteta has a proven record of getting the best from young players and developing them.
Chelsea, at the moment, look like a sinking ship. Graham Potter is under pressure. Results are poor. And if it carries on as is, there’ll be no European football either.
In our opinion, Mudryk should sign for Arsenal, not Chelsea right now.
