Arsenal’s pursuit of Mykhaylo Mudryk continues but in good news for the Gunners, the player has once again told Shakhtar he wants the move.
The Gunners and Chelsea seem to be battling it out to sign the impressive Mudryk. But as yet, no deal is in place as the Ukrainian side hold out for mega-money. Reports have suggested Shakhtar want to bring in as much as £80m for Mudryk, with mentions of £100m even mooted.
However, while Chelsea’s intrusion into the deal is a worry for Arsenal, journalist Graeme Bailey has said the Gunners are still favourites, with Mudryk once again telling Shakhtar this week he wants the move.

“Arsenal have no say on who Shakhtar can talk to, but they feel that their London rivals have been used somewhat to try and push them into a deal. But that aside talks continue and Arsenal remain confident they get a deal done,” Bailey told TeamTalk.
“And you can’t ignore the fact that Mudryk has pushed so hard to get to Arsenal and I understand the player himself has made it clear again in the last week that Arsenal remains his first choice… and fair play to him, he is really pushing for that.”
TBR’s View: Arsenal have to land Mudryk now
With all the talk of his love for Arsenal and wanting this move, it would seem a bit odd if we see Mudryk lining up in Chelsea blue come the end of January.
You do feel this is a chance Arsenal can’t pass up. They have one of Europe’s best young players wanting in on the act.
And given the Gunners need to strengthen, it sems bizarre to not get this wrapped up. Yes, finances matter, but surely Edu will just push this over the line rather than haggle over minor details.
