‘My dream’: Some Arsenal fans say 23-year-old would ‘transform’ position, amid reported Gunners contact
Arsenal are being linked with Lille midfielder Renato Sanches – and some Gunners fans on Twitter are convinced he would be a top addition at the Emirates Stadium.
According to 90min, Arsenal have made contact with French club Lille about the 23-year-old.
It is understood that the north London side have asked to be kept informed on the central midfielder’s future, as Lille may end up cashing in on him this summer.
The report explains Sanches would be open to a return to the Premier League after he previously flopped in a loan spell with Swansea City.
In addition, Liverpool are named as a potential suitor for the Portugal international.
Sanches is currently at Euro 2020 starring with national side Portugal, but speculation about his future is doing the transfer rounds.
He’s an all-action central midfielder that burst onto the scene as a youngster five years ago due to his performances at Euro 2016. But, he’s had a mixed time since where he’s had to rebuild his reputation.
It never quite happened for him after a move to Bayern Munich, which included a poor Swansea loan. However, the past two years with Lille he’s got back on track.
Arsenal fans believe Sanches could help transform midfield
A selection of Arsenal supporters on social media are optimistic about the rumoured Sanches approach.
There is a real desire among the Gunners fanbase for the club to sign a midfielder this summer because many want a new partner next to Thomas Partey in the centre of the park.
Sanches has matured since his last taste of the Premier League, so perhaps it’s an ideal time to return. He’s got a bit of everything to his game with technique, physicality and energy.
Overall, he’s someone with big potential that could be worth a gamble.
