‘Moving’: Botman and Guimaraes react to Newcastle United teammate’s Instagram after brilliant win

It was an away day to remember for Newcastle United, as they ran out 4-1 winners against Fulham.

Goals from Callum Wilson, Sean Longstaff and a brace for Miguel Almiron secured a comfortable three points.

In reality the Magpies could have scored a lot more and Fulham were bailed out by Bernd Leno on a number of occasions.

The home side were always going to struggle after seeing Nathaniel Chalobah sent off within the first ten minutes.

There were brilliant performances across the pitch for Newcastle yesterday as Eddie Howe’s side moved into 7th place in the Premier League.

Joe Willock put in a fantastic performance for Newcastle, providing two assists for his teammates.

Willock’s header looked destined for the back of the net to open the scoring, before Callum Wilson tapped in on the line.

He then played a superb pass across the box for Almiron to tap in at the back post.

Willock’s brilliant Newcastle performance

Willock took to Instagram after the match to celebrate his side’s victory.

The midfielder posted three photos with the caption: “Proud of the team”.

A number of his teammates reacted, clearly pleased with Willock’s contribution yesterday.

Midfield partner Bruno Guimaraes simply replied with a love heart, and Callum Wilson loved what he saw from Willock.

Sven Botman replied ‘Moving’, and was impressed with the 23-year-old at Craven Cottage yesterday.

Willock has started every league game for Newcastle this season, playing a vital role in central midfield.

He’s yet to open his account for Newcastle this season, missing a golden opportunity against Wolves.

This is in stark contrast to his form when on loan from Arsenal, when he scored in seven games on the bounce.

The final one of those goals came against Fulham, and Willock put in a similar performance for Newcastle against Marco Silva’s side yesterday.
