This has been one of the craziest mornings in terms of the transfer window that we can remember.
In the midst of all of the Harry Kane news breaking this morning after a bid from Bayern Munich was accepted, Liverpool have decided to make their own splash in the window.
From seemingly out of nowhere, Liverpool have gone in and made a big bid for Moises Caicedo, reportedly blowing Chelsea out of the water in the process.
However, Caicedo would still prefer to join Chelsea.
Now this is very interesting to say the least.
Caicedo is a player that Liverpool fans and pundits alike have been clamouring for for ages.
Jamie Carragher told Liverpool this week to get the deal done, despite his verdict that the player is ‘overpriced’.
Caicedo would certainly be expensive – Brighton reportedly want £100m for the midfielder, but there’s every chance he could be worth it.
He’s proven at this level, he’s versatile, and he’d suit Jurgen Klopp’s team to a tee.

As Matt Law states in his tweet, Caicedo would prefer the move to Chelsea, but if Liverpool have indeed gazumped the Blues, the option of a move to Stamford Bridge may no longer be on the table.
We’ve seen before how players don’t always get their dream moves due to club-to-club negotiations proving problematic, and that could play into Liverpool’s hands here
All of a sudden, Liverpool could have one of the very best midfields in the Premier League if they get this deal done.
Alexis Mac Allister, Moises Caicedo and Dominik Szoboszlai would all complement each other perfectly, and you have to make Liverpool, once again, among the favourites for the Premier League title if they can pull this transfer off.
Keep an eye on this story as there are bound to be more developments in the coming hours.
