Wolves ace Rafa Mir has spoken on his desire to move to La Liga outfit Mallorca.

Mir spent last season on loan with SD Huesca, scoring 13 times in 38 league games for the outfit. His contract with the Midlanders side expires next year.

In an interview with Onda Cero, the 24-year-old claimed that he has love to the Island.

Mir’s father, Magín Mir Martínez, played for Mallorca from between 1989 and 1991 during his career.

However, despite his eagerness to play for the team, the player admitted he didn’t know where he future lies.

When talking about his future, Mir said: “We have a good relationship with Mallorca. I have love for the land. There are a lot of things that need to be in line for me to come here. We’ll see what happens, but the truth is I’d like to [play for Mallorca] a lot. That’s not new.”

TBR View: Mir could be an unlikely hero for Wolves despite his desire to move

Wolves need a centre-forward and Mir could act as an unlikely hero despite his desire to move.

Last season was a tough campaign for the side, especially in the final third. The outfit scored just 36 goals across their 38 Premier League games, a woeful return.

However, the loss of Raul Jimenez played a huge role in their struggles in attack. He scored four goals in 10 league games at the start of last term and looked on course for another double-figure campaign.

Following his fractured skull, Pedro Neto and Ruben Neves finished as the highest scorers with five goals each.

And whilst there is no return date set for the Mexican’s return to action, there needs to be an injection of quality.

Mir can be the unlikely hero after enjoying a brilliant campaign last year.

His 13 goals came from an average of 3.2 shots per game in the Spanish top-flight. The player’s tally is more than what top-scorers, Neto and Neves managed between themselves.
