Fans will be shocked to hear the Tottenham Hotspur player who is just as quick as Micky van de Ven.

Micky van de Ven is the Premier League’s quickest player of all time, with his speed being such a key asset for Tottenham Hotspur.

The 24-year-old is often hailed for his pace, so it will come as quite a surprise to know that Spurs might have a player who is also just as quick.

Mikey Moore and Dane Scarlett are claiming that to be the case and have named the teammate whose statistics show that he is close to the Dutch international.

Mikey Moore thinks Djed Spence is Micky van de Ven-level fast

Moore and Scarlett reckon that Djed Spence is just as fast as Van de Ven if he reaches top speed, and the club’s stats prove it.

The two Tottenham academy graduates were asked who they thought was the fastest teammate, and they were adamant it was close between Spence and Van de Ven.

Scarlett claims that Spence perhaps hasn’t shown it in a game yet, but behind closed doors, the right-back is very close, if not as fast.

Moore said: “Djed is like fast! I think they did the stats, I think Djed is close (to Van de Ven). If he gets to top speed, he’s actually Micky-level. He’s rapid!

Meanwhile, Scarlett added: “Micky or Djed. I don’t think Djed has done it in a game. (He’s quick) With the ball as well. It’s close (between him and Van de Ven).”

Micky van de Ven’s speed ranked against other Premier League players

Premier League players were asked about the defender’s pace, and Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta admitted he hates playing Van de Ven.

The French striker said that the 24-year-old always seems to catch him in a foot race, and for that reason, he is a very tough opponent.

In 2024, Van de Ven became the fastest ever player in the division as he recorded a speed of 37.38 km/h against Everton.

Last term, he reinforced his speed as he was the quickest player and the only person to reach a top speed of above 37 km/h.

But knowing that Spurs have another defender in Spence who is just as quick as Van de Ven will be very useful for Frank to know when setting up his team ahead of next season.
