Mikel Arteta has labelled what Mohamed Elneny brings to the Arsenal team special, and claimed that his performance in their win over Manchester United on Sunday was tremendous, in comments reported by Football London.
The Gunners picked up an impressive win at Old Trafford. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the only goal from the penalty spot after Hector Bellerin was fouled in the box during the second-half.

But perhaps the most impressive performance came from Elneny. The Egyptian was outstanding alongside Thomas Partey in the middle of the park.
It was a display that saw a number of Arsenal fans laud the 28-year-old on social media. And Arteta was full of praise for the impact that the midfielder has had on the team on and off the pitch.

“What Mo transmits to the team is special,” he said, as reported by Football London. “He has this energy, he has a presence. He goes in a room and he creates an atmosphere.
“Today I thought that we needed that energy and that positive feeling that he brings all the time. And I think he was tremendous on the pitch.”
It has been a remarkable return to the Emirates for Elneny. Many Arsenal fans would have been forgiven for thinking that his career in North London was practically over a while ago.
He was loaned out last season. And even after Arteta had taken the job, there was still speculation surrounding his future.
The Telegraph claimed during the summer that he was one of the players put up for sale as the Gunners looked to fund a move for Partey.
Ultimately however, the midfielder would remain at the Emirates. And the early signs suggest that holding onto him was a masterstroke from Arteta.
