Sevilla were really keen to sign Jakub Kiwior during the summer transfer window, but the Arsenal defender saw a move blocked by Mikel Arteta.
That is according to a report from TVP Sport, which notes that the Europa League champions were monitoring the Poland international following his move to the Emirates in the January transfer window.
Jakub Kiwior has not had the easiest time since making the move to Arsenal. He arrived as the Gunners looked to push for the Premier League title in the second-half of last season.

However, he struggled for game-time. And when he came into the side, Kiwior made a couple of errors as Arsenal saw their title challenge fall away.
It seems that Sevilla sensed an opportunity over the summer amid his struggles for minutes. TVP Sport in Poland is now reporting that they made a big move for the 23-year-old over the summer.

However, Mikel Arteta blocked Kiwior from leaving the club on loan.
Defender may have mixed feelings about staying at Arsenal
Kiwior may have mixed feelings about staying put at Arsenal. Of course, he will not want to throw in the towel so soon after making the move to North London. And he would have known that he would need to be patient following his arrival from Spezia anyway.
However, Sevilla were able to offer Champions League football this season. And he may have wanted to take a chance that he would enjoy more minutes in La Liga. He has only featured in three Premier League games this season.
Having said that, it is clearly a very exciting time to be at Arsenal. They are well-placed in the top-flight once again. And with the Gunners battling on several different fronts, there are going to be opportunities for him to play over the course of the season.
