Mikel Arteta has singled out Bukayo Saka for praise after Arsenal beat Sevilla in the Champions League last night.

Arsenal got back to winning ways at the Emirates Stadium last night with a 2-0 victory over the La Liga outfit.

Leandro Trossard opened the scoring just before the half hour mark after finishing off an excellent Arsenal move.

Bukayo Saka finally doubled the Gunners’ lead just after the hour mark after linking up brilliantly with Gabriel Martinelli.

Arsenal looked back to their best on the night and created plenty of chances after a disappointing attacking display at Newcastle last time out.

And Mikel Arteta was particularly impressed with Saka’s display off the right-hand side.

Arteta amazed by Saka display

Speaking to Football.London after last night’s win, Arteta explained why Saka was forced off and singled the winger out for praise.

“There is contact in football,” Arteta said. “For the wingers that want to take people on especially.

“At the end he was uncomfortable to carry on so hopefully it’s not big but I’m really happy with his performance.”

Arteta will undoubtedly be sweating over the fitness of Saka after the 22-year-old was forced off in the 82nd minute following an awkward landing.

Fortunately for Arsenal, there was an encouraging sign after the winger came off as he didn’t head straight down the tunnel.

Saka was limping after the game but he did walk onto the pitch to celebrate with his teammates.

Arsenal have got plenty of injury issues at the moment and the last thing they need is for Saka to pick up a knock.
