Micah Richards has told the Monday Night Club that Joe Hart labelled Ange Postecoglou inspirational when he spoke to the Celtic goalkeeper after their Old Firm win on Sunday.

The Hoops have put one hand on the Scottish Premiership title after a superb win over Rangers at Ibrox. Celtic recovered from conceding an early Aaron Ramsey goal to win 2-1. Cameron Carter-Vickers scored the winner for the Bhoys.

Celtic now sit six points clear with six games remaining. And it would certainly appear that Postecoglou is going to end his first season at Parkhead with at least two trophies.

It has been a brilliant season for Hart. He arrived at Celtic Park off the back of spells with Burnley and Tottenham where he was a backup option. But he has reminded many of how good he can be with some outstanding performances for the Hoops.

Hart is clearly enjoying his football again. And according to Richards, he is really enjoying getting the chance to work with Postecoglou at Parkhead.

“I rang him after the game to congratulate him. I watched the full game and because we’re always working we don’t get to see as much Scottish football as we would like, but he just said the manager is inspirational, he’s one of the best managers he’s played under,” he told the Monday Night Club.

“And people are going to say of course he’s going to say that because he’s playing him.

“But they had a conversation when he first signed and Joe Hart said to him, all I need is a little bit of love and I would do my best.

“He said his training is excellent, he says he always wants to play out from the back, no matter what.”

Postecoglou taking Celtic back to the summit amid Hart praise

It is remarkable to look at how far Celtic have come since Postecoglou came in. They finished 25 points off the title last year. And he did not have a full pre-season to work with his squad. He was appointed a month before their first pre-season friendly.

It has been suggested that he has admirers at Manchester City. And you can see why Hart is loving his football at Celtic.

With Postecoglou at the helm, Celtic now have a brilliant opportunity to enjoy another spell of dominance.
