Illan Meslier has told Sky Sports that he would label Hugo Lloris maybe the greatest goalkeeper in the history of French football, as he shared how much respect he has for the Tottenham Hotspur star.
Meslier is one of the most talented goalkeepers in the Premier League. It has certainly been a difficult campaign for the Leeds United star with relegation currently looking to be on the cards.

No player has made more saves in the top-flight this term than Meslier. And while he has made some mistakes, it does appear that he has a very bright future ahead.
Of course, there will be hopes in France that Meslier will one day take the number one spot for the national team. And obviously, that may mean that he succeeds Lloris for Les Bleus.

Lloris is coming towards the end of a remarkable career. He is one of the best the Premier League has seen. And he is a World Cup winner.
Certainly, Meslier is in no doubt about how high he rates Lloris.
“Hugo is a fantastic person, a lot of respect for him because to be a keeper for Tottenham for 10 years, more or less, maybe more for the French teams, he’s maybe the greatest goalkeeper in France in history,” he told Sky Sports.
Meslier labels Lloris the greatest goalkeeper France has ever had
Undoubtedly, France and Tottenham are going to struggle to replace Lloris in the years to come. Not only is he an amazing goalkeeper. But he is also a real leader, captaining both sides.
Tottenham do have other leaders. But it is going to be asking a lot of his successor between the sticks to entirely fill the void that he leaves behind when the time does come.
