Arsenal youngster Max Dowman continues to show his class as he rises through the ranks and into the senior team.

The 15-year-old has been nothing short of a revelation for the Gunners, having joined in with first-team training since the age of 14.

Now, as part of the senior setup, Max Dowman is making an impact and getting minutes for his early signs of quality, too.

The attacking midfielder has already landed his Premier League debut against Leeds, getting a few minutes off the bench against them, and then Liverpool in the following game.

He continues to grow in experience and stature, marking him as one for the future for Arsenal.

His latest appearance has shown that he may have one trait that could be very useful for Mikel Arteta.

Max Dowman shows two-footedness with a goal for Arsenal under-21s

While he has recently been part of the squad, Max Dowman was omitted from the latest one as Arsenal beat West Ham in the Premier League.

Instead, he was playing for the under-21s in their own match with West Ham, which ended as a 2-2 draw.

The 15-year-old was on the scoresheet once again, shifting the ball from left to right before unleashing a strike from distance.

It’s the sort of movement that Dowman has started to do more often in the youth ranks, shaping one way before shooting with the other.

It’s important to note that the youngster is actually left-footed, but his ability to score with his right is incredibly useful.

That could be a trait that keeps defenders guessing, as there is no angle where he can be stopped.

There’s no doubt that will be something Arteta is impressed with, as Dowman continues to forge a path to the senior team.

Arsenal are recruiting players who are strong with both feet

The good news for Dowman is that this skill is present across the squad at Arsenal, further cementing his place in the future.

Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are a duo who are capable of using either foot, even though they do have a stronger one.

Their ability to turn defenders inside and out is what makes them such a threat.

A similar thing can be said of Ethan Nwaneri, who is stronger on his left but more than capable when it comes to his right.

“He’s like Messi,” Theo Walcott told BBC Sport earlier this year. “I remember playing against Messi – when he was off the ball, he’s not quick. Maybe it’s because I was quicker than most.

“When he had the ball, he would just glide past people, glide past me with ease. [Dowman’s] got that, he’s got the stop-start.”

If Dowman can reach anywhere near those levels, then it’s clear just how talented he really is.
