Arsenal youngster Max Dowman’s impressive rise to the senior team continues, as he looks to shatter more records on his way to the top.

At just 15 years old, he has been a regular feature in Mikel Arteta’s squad so far this season, having shown some potential for the future.

Dowman’s debut against Leeds United saw him win a penalty in the final moments of the game, while he made another Premier League appearance against Liverpool.

In the weeks since, the youngster has been away on international duty with the England under-19s, which constituted a promotion for him from the under-17s.

A match in the Arsenal under-21s has followed, where he became the youngest-ever scorer at that level for the club.

Now, another Arsenal record is in his sights, with Port Vale now coming up in the Carabao Cup.

Max Dowman could be the youngest-ever Arsenal starter with Port Vale decision

The early rounds of the Carabao Cup can often give opportunities for young stars to shine for their clubs, a chance that may not be provided in league action.

Arsenal have done that many times in the past, including in last season’s clash with Bolton Wanderers, where Jack Porter made history by becoming the youngest starter for the club.

Aged just 16 years and 72 days old, the young goalkeeper played in place of the injured David Raya and cup-tied Neto.

It was a record that saw the youngster surpass Cesc Fabregas, who previously held the honour.

That could soon change, though, if Arteta gives Max Dowman the nod to start against Port Vale this season.

At 15 years, eight months and 25 days, the forward could take that record as the youngest-ever starter for Arsenal.

Dowman already has the honour of being second place on the all-time youngest-ever appearance makers for Arsenal, only behind Ethan Nwaneri.

Now, he could surpass that and show what he can do for the Gunners in a clash with League One opposition.

If he were to start, surely it’s a record that cannot be broken again.

Max Dowman repeat Ethan Nwaneri feat for Arsenal against Port Vale

With the potential for Dowman to start in the League Cup, he could follow in the footsteps of Nwaneri once again.

In last season’s clash with Bolton, the youngster was given a chance to make an impression for the senior side, a few years after his historic debut.

That was the moment he really imposed himself on the senior side, as he picked up two goals in a 5-1 win.

If Dowman starts, and makes the most of his opportunity, it could be the next springboard for him into the senior set-up.
