Fabrizio Romano claims Barcelona midfielder Gavi is about to sign a new deal with the club, after reported interest from Liverpool.
The 18-year-old is seen as one of the most promising young midfielders in Europe and became the youngest ever player to make his senior debut for Spain last year.
The prodigy also played in 33 games in La Liga for Barca last season at the age of 17.
And Liverpool were apparently monitoring his availability due to his contract situation at the Catalan club.
But now it seems he is set to sign a new deal and commit his future to Xavi’s side.

Gavi about to sign new deal
Fabrizio Romano reports that it’s just a ‘matter of time’ before Gavi signs a new deal with Barca.
The Spaniard will now have a release clause in his contract worth around £866 million.
Barca were not worried about apparent interest from Premier League sides.
The Reds are seemingly targeting younger midfielders to come in as a long-term addition for Klopp.

Gavi would have undoubtedly been a brilliant signing for Liverpool but if he signs a new deal, he will not be leaving Barca anytime soon.
Klopp did manage to bring in Arthur Melo on a season-long loan deal from Juventus. But it seems likely that Liverpool will target another central midfielder in future windows.
Injuries to Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson have highlighted the need for more depth in the position.
