Gabriel Martinelli has returned to Arsenal training just days after winning gold at the Tokyo Olympics.

What’s the story?

The Brazilian posted a picture on his Instagram at the club’s training ground. His snap was accompanied with a caption that read ‘back to work’.

Martinelli was successful with his home nation at the Olympics. Brazil won the gold medal after beating Spain in the final of the tournament last Saturday.

The ‘talent of the century‘ featured just three times during the games and wasn’t in the squad for the final. He didn’t score or assist in any of his appearances.

Arsenal handed boost

Arsenal have been handed a big boost after Martinelli returned to training.

The ace played a bit-part role following his return from a long-term hamstring injury last season.

However, his quality has never been in question during his time at the club.

He showed just how important he can be to the Gunners in the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace last season. Scoring the winning goal is always a good thing, especially when you are forcing your way into a manager’s plans.

This season is a massive one for the winger, who will be hoping to become a regular fixture in the first-team.
