Martin Odegaard is enjoying another superb campaign at Arsenal – and a statistic has now emerged which reflects very well on the Norwegian.
It was WhoScored who provided the data.
So, what has Martin Odegaard done at Arsenal? Let’s take a look…
Odegaard best in Europe at creating chances
Well, no player in Europe’s top five leagues has been as creative as the Norway international this season.
Odegaard has created 43 chances from open play – according to WhoScored.
The Arsenal No.8 has four assists in 20 Premier League appearances this season to show for his efforts when it comes to creativity – which is quite low, in truth.

Nevertheless, Odegaard certainly cannot be blamed for a lack of service – to say the least.
Across all competitions, the Drammen-born maestro has scored seven goals and provided four assists in 29 appearances.
Arsenal need a finisher
As aforesaid, Odegaard’s return of just four assists from 43 chances created is very low, and reflects quite poorly on Arsenal’s forwards.
Only Bukayo Saka has hit double figures for goals at Arsenal this season with 11 strikes, so it is clear that Mikel Arteta needs someone more clinical to lead the line and finish these chances off.
In fairness, it appears the Spaniard and Edu know this all too well.

The Mirror believe Arsenal currently lead the race to sign Ivan Toney – who scored 20 Premier League goals last season – with Brentford prepared to sell the England international this summer.
A separate story from the Mirror claimed that Arsenal are also monitoring Sporting CP No.9 Viktor Gyokeres – who has 26 goals in 28 appearances this season.
Only Kylian Mbappe has registered more goal involvements than the Sweden international across Europe’s top seven leagues this term.
Hopefully, Arsenal can find a prolific striker this summer, or else Odegaard’s powers of creativity may continue to be wasted.
