‘Incident at home’: Marsch reveals his ‘absolutely crazy’ Leeds player will miss most of October

Leeds United manager, Jesse Marsch, has said that young midfielder Archie Gray will be missing through injury for the time being.

Gray is seen as one of the very best young players at the club and has already seen first-team minutes this season under Marsch. Labelled as an ‘absolutely crazy‘ talent by now departed winger, Daniel James, Gray is one of the club’s big hopes for the future.

However, while Gray is impressing at Elland Road, Jesse Marsch told Leeds Live today that the teenager has been involved in an incident at home resulting in a broken bone, and he’ll now miss the next few weeks.

“Archie Gray incident at home stubbed his toe and fractured a bit of his big toe. Out for two weeks and another two weeks. Dallas good recovery. Specialist feeling like he’s doing well. On track,” Marsch said in his presser.

Gray will be hoping for a quick recovery as to not hinder his season too much. Despite being just 16, Gray has been given hope by Marsch that he’ll play this season. Certainly, it does seem the American coach is very much willing to trust in youth if they’re good enough.

TBR’s View: Gray Will Be Bitterly Disappointed

What a nightmare scenario for Archie Gray here. He was just doing well and getting in and around things and now has a setback from what sounds like an innocuous enough incident at home.

Of course, Gray will be back but these little knocks can sometimes linger and while ever he isn’t in the first-team picture, the more opportunity there is for someone else to come in his way.

Hopefully, it’s a quick enough injury to recover from and youth can help Gray back to fitness in no time.
