Marcus Rashford is attempting to rediscover his old form at Barcelona, but Manchester United might have a reason to be concerned after his poor start.
Rashford joined Barcelona on a season-long loan during the summer transfer window, with the Catalans holding a purchase option worth around £20million.
This follows Rashford’s loan spell at Aston Villa during the second half of last season after Ruben Amorim had decided he didn’t have a future at Old Trafford.
However, the England international has started just one game for Barcelona, which saw him replaced at half time, as he has struggled to showcase his true potential so far.

Ben Foster believes Marcus Rashford hasn’t made a ‘fantastic start’ at Barcelona
Rashford has struggled to make much impact at Barcelona so far, to the point that El Nacional has reported that the La Liga side is contemplating ending the loan deal already.
After just three games with the Spanish giants, that would be seen as a disaster for Rashford, which Ben Foster believes would cause him a problem, as he explained on The Football Fill-In.
“That’s the bit for me, it just sort of follows him a bit. I think people are quick to make up stories because any Marcus Rashford story sells very quickly, doesn’t it?
“But, he hasn’t had a fantastic start, he’s been on the bench a couple of games, I think he got hoiked at half-time in one of the games as well, so it’s not been brilliant.
“Apparently, they’re not enamoured with his personality and attitude; he’s not the most outgoing of lads, which I think we kind of knew that anyway, really.
“It’s not been a fantastic start, but if something like that was to happen, it would be a massive problem for Marcus Rashford.
“I can assume that Manchester United have got clauses in there, which basically safeguard them from anything like that happening.
“The England game the other night, I watched most of it, and he wasn’t fantastic. He had some good chances that he could have probably scored.”
Of course, any potential loan termination will put Manchester United on red alert, as they would end up with the forward back in their squad.
Marcus Rashford failed to dazzle for England
Rashford’s poor start to the season continued on Saturday when he was allowed to start for England against Andorra.
While the Three Lions won the game 2-0, the Barcelona star failed to make much of an impact personally, proving to be rather wasteful in the final third of the pitch.
| Match Stats | Rashford |
| Shots on target | 0/1 (0%) |
| Accurate Passes | 24/31 (77%) |
| Accurate Crosses | 0/1 (0%) |
| Accurate Long Balls | 2/5 (40%) |
Thomas Tuchel has given Rashford the chance to play his way back into the England squad after he fell out of the squad under Gareth Southgate, but it’s hard to say he’s truly grasped it.
With Jack Grealish flying at Everton so far this season, he could quickly come under pressure for the left wing role under the former Chelsea manager.
