Liverpool are at the centre of the biggest stories of this transfer deadline day.

Alexander Isak is set to join the Reds, while Marc Guehi could also be on the move too.

Guehi’s move to Anfield hangs in the balance, and Liverpool are set to do something rather interesting to accelerate this deal if it needs to be done.

Speaking on a livestream on his YouTube channel, Lewis Steele has shared an update on Guehi’s potential move to Anfield, and he says the defender could be set to do his medical in London before getting a move.

Marc Guehi could be set for London medical

Steele was speaking about Guehi’s potential move to Anfield.

The journalist says that the defender could be set to do his medical in London ahead of a potential switch to the Premier League champions.

Interestingly, Steele also noted that Hugo Ekitike did his medical in London earlier this summer, so this isn’t an uncommon practice despite the geographical difference here.

“Marc Guehi could do his medical in London,we know that Hugo Ekitike did his medical in London, but as we sit here now, I would say that a deal looks more likely than not,” Steele said.

Paul Joyce also backed this information up on X.

Guehi looks like he could be a later mover in this summer transfer window as Liverpool look to add the icing on the cake on what has been an incredible window.

The former Liverpool manager who helped Marc Guehi

Guehi could be set to join Liverpool as he makes a huge next step in his career.

The England defender could become a star for Liverpool, and, interestingly, it’s a former Liverpool manager who helped Guehi get to this point.

Indeed, Guehi credits Roy Hodgson for helping him in his development as a young player.

“It’s great to have him back. He’s adamant that he was feeling okay even when he wasn’t there. We’re just glad that he was,” Guehi said to Crystal Palace’s website.

“We see him every single day in training, him and his staff, and all of the work that they do behind the scenes. The enthusiasm that they show each and every day is fantastic and just makes us want to play well for them even more.

“I can’t praise him enough for his help and wisdom and I’m just taking every bit of experience and trying to add it to my own game.”

Liverpool don’t have the fondest memories of Hodgson, but 15 years on from his time at Anfield, he may finally be about to help Liverpool.
