Chelsea star Marc Cucurella has sent a message to Arsenal’s Kai Havertz on Instagram after his latest display for Germany.

Kai Havertz was part of the German side which fell to a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Turkey on Sunday evening.

The 24-year-old has endured a difficult start to life at Arsenal as he’s struggled to nail down a place in Mikel Arteta’s midfield.

Indeed, Gabriel Agbonlahor recently claimed that Havertz’s performances are actually getting worse as he’s lacking confidence.

But Germany boss Julian Naglesmann used the Arsenal star in a completely new role last night. Havertz started at left-back and opened the scoring for Germany inside the opening five minutes with a well-taken finish.

And his former teammate, Marc Cucurella, was impressed with his showing at left-back.

Havertz took to Instagram this morning and posted two pictures of himself in action for Germany.

He wrote: “Berlin.”

And Chelsea left-back Cucurella left a comment beneath the post which suggests he was impressed with Havertz’s display.

Of course, Cucurella operates at left-back and has played alongside Havertz at Chelsea.

The Spaniard was clearly impressed with Havertz’s performance in his favoured position last night.

It was interesting to see Nagelsmann use Havertz at left-back on Sunday and it’s fair to say the Arsenal midfielder impressed in his new position.

It’s no secret that Havertz has struggled at Arsenal so far and Arteta is yet to find the German’s best position. Yet, it would be a surprise to see Havertz start at left-back for the Gunners anytime soon.

Arteta already has two brilliant options in the position in Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

But a goal and a decent performance for Germany will only help Havertz’s confidence ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Brentford next weekend.
