Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after watching footage of Jeremy Doku, who is believed to be a target for the Reds.

What’s the story?

Well, it has been said that Doku could be on his way to Anfield, after being tracked by Liverpool for years.

The Reds have even invited the 19-year-old and his father David to Merseyside, where they were shown around the training ground.

David Doku revealed that he wanted his son to join Liverpool over Ajax, and that Jürgen Klopp views him as an ideal successor to Sadio Mané.

Interestingly, some Liverpool fans below have also made that same comparison after seeing footage of the dynamic forward.

Doku put his name up in lights at EURO 2020 with an outstanding display against Italy in the quarter-final.

The Rennes winger completed more dribbles than anyone else has at either the World Cup or European Championship since Opta began recording data.

Liverpool must sign Jeremy Doku now

The footage of Doku is mesmeric – there aren’t many players who can dribble like he can.

As of now, the only reason his name isn’t on the lips of everyone around Europe is because of his end product, in our view.

Doku scored four goals and provided eight assists in 44 games last season, which isn’t awful, but not quite at an elite level.

However, if Liverpool sit and wait for him to deliver consistent end product, it could become immeasurably harder to sign him.

If that happens, Rennes have every right to up his price tag, which currently stands at £38m.

In our view, Liverpool should sign the forward and loan him out, so he can continue to develop with regular first-team football – he is only 19, after all.

Let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about the footage of Doku…
