TBR Football can exclusively confirm how Manchester United feel about how much they paid Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo.
On Friday, TBR Football sources confirmed that Man United have agreed a deal worth £65million plus add-ons for Mbeumo.
We understand that the add-ons come up to £6million, so the overall package could reach up to £71million.
As Mbeumo’s Manchester United move looms, a number of rival fans have been poking fun at a particular detail involving the deal.

Manchester United pleased over Bryan Mbeumo deal and they do not feel they’ve overpaid
Some rival fans have been mocking how Man United are set to pay Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo, especially considering he effectively had two years left on his contract.
Mbeumo’s contract was set to expire in 2026, but the Bees held a further year’s option.
“Nobody went to bid even £60m for Mbeumo, you were the only buyer and still ended up paying £71m,” one rival fan wrote on X.
Another said: “£71million for Mbeumo with less than 2 years left on his contract after one good season is ridiculous.
“But they paid £60million for Mount with one year left on his contract so maybe it’s a United thing.”
However, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has confirmed that his Man United sources don’t think they overpaid.
“United were committed to Mbeumo and he to them, and there is no getting away from the fact they paid slightly more than they thought a deal would be struck at,” Bailey exclusively told TBR Football.
“But I am told they don’t for one minute think they ‘over-paid’ for him – they had a maximum value for him and did not go beyond it.
“Yes, the overall deal looks to be above £70million but the add-ons are not easily attainable, they have Champions League implications.
“United are happy with this – getting Matheus Cunha and Mbeumo were key to getting this team in the image of what Ruben Amorim wants.
“They still want the No. 9 but they are delighted with Mbeumo, along with Cunha.
“These two signings can transform United’s attack and quickly – the board still has real belief in Amorim and are backing him.”
When Bryan Mbeumo could play his first game for Manchester United
Bailey recently confirmed that Mbeumo is expected to undergo his medical this weekend.
The Red Devils want him on the plane for their tour of the US, which gets under way next week.
Therefore, there’s a good chance Mbeumo’s first game could be against West Ham United at the MetLife Stadium on Sunday 27 July.
