Tottenham Transfer News: Victor Osimhen latest as Manchester United look to muscle in

Tottenham have been credited with an interest in Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen in recent days, but could find Manchester United in their way now.

Osimhen is said to be a wanted man over in England. Journalist Rudy Galetti said just last week that Tottenham could move for Osimhen to replace Harry Kane. Meanwhile, Liverpool are also thought to have watched Osimhen, with Jurgen Klopp an admirer of the Napoli ace.

However, all those clubs could end up being trumped by Manchester United. According to Il Mattino, relayed by The Express, United are pushing to sign Osimhen. They claim that intermediaries and ‘middlemen’ are working hard to try and get a deal done. It’s claimed that United want to convince Osimhen to join them by the summer.

Lauded as being ‘phenomenal‘ for his performances in a Napoli shirt, Osimhen has impressed massively. The Nigerian has an impressive 13 goals in just 17 games this season. Osimhen impressed against Liverpool in the Champions League this season too and could end up being a Serie A winner by end of May.

Napoli paid around £70m for Osimhen back in 2020.

TBR’s View: Osimhen an expensive option for any club

Napoli are known for sticking to their guns anyway and there’s no way they’d be selling Victor Osimhen for any sort of bargain deal.

In reality, the likes of United and Spurs are probably looking at around £100m minimum here. Goal scorers are sought after and Osimhen has so much going for him.

Osimhen would, of course, be a superb signing for either Tottenham or United. He has everything in his locker, and his pace and finishing are quite exceptional. It’s a deal worth exploring at least for the English duo, and sometimes the best cost big money.

Whether or not Napoli will even consider a sale, though, is another matter.
