Tottenham transfer news: £70m star could become 'main target' if Harry Kane leaves
Kane has been exceptional for Spurs once again this season and has already bagged 17 goals in all competitions.
The 29-year-old will be looking to surpass Jimmy Greaves’ all-time scoring record in the north London derby today.
But the Englishman’s future at the club remains uncertain, with just 18-months left on his current deal with Tottenham.
And Galetti claims Antonio Conte’s men could make Osimhen their top target in the event that Kane decides his future lies away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham could sign Osimhen if Kane leaves
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Galetti claims Bayern Munich are interested in signing Kane and Spurs could turn to Osimhen if their talisman leaves the club.
“For me, in regards to the situation in attack, we have to pay attention on the future of Kane,” he said.
“Bayern are interested and if he decides to go to the Bundesliga or anywhere else, Osimhen could become the main target for Tottenham for the summer.”
Osimhen has been in lethal goal scoring form once again this season – netting 12 times in 14 Serie A appearances.
The 24-year-old has been a standout performer for Napoli ever since making the £70 million switch from Lille back in 2020.
The Nigerian striker is seen as one the best emerging goal scorers in Europe, but Tottenham will undoubtedly prefer to be in a situation where they don’t have to think about replacing Kane this summer.
Their talisman is yet to put pen to paper but it’s likely that his future will depend on that of Conte’s. If the Italian decides to extend his stay in north London and continue building a team capable of challenging towards the top end of the table, Kane may be happy to continue his search for silverware at Spurs.
But it remains unclear whether Conte will sign a new deal, with concerns over the club’s capability, or willingness, to compete with the biggest clubs in the transfer market.
Nevertheless, if Kane did decide to move on from Tottenham then they will certainly have to spend big to replace him.
Osimhen has been described as a ‘phenomenal’ talent and his record in-front of goal is superb. But Spurs will be hoping that they are not in a position where they need to replace their star man at the end of the season.
