Manchester United player spotted clashing with Erik ten Hag during 2-2 draw, he was not happy

Manchester United delivered another truly confusing performance under Erik ten Hag today as Bournemouth held the Red Devils to a 2-2 draw.

It means Manchester United have now gone four Premier League games without a win under the Dutchman, and it is genuinely hard to tell what the 54-year-old actually wants his players to do.

There were signs of confusion on the pitch as Bruno Fernandes and Andre Onana bickered about tactics, which led to a clash with Erik ten Hag in front of all to see…

Bruno Fernandes seen clashing with Erik ten Hag

Well, it was the Manchester United No.8 who appeared to disagree with his manager’s instructions.

Fernandes could be seen arguing with Onana about whether to play the ball short or go long just seven minutes into today’s 2-2 draw, which is even more alarming given the fact Ten Hag was only just in the dressing room talking to his players.

The Dutchman stepped in and told his captain to calm down from the touchline, but the Portugal international was not listening, and could be seen wagging his finger at the man from Haaksbergen.

Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News also spotted the incident.

For this to happen at any stage of the game is worrying, but to see a disagreement just seven minutes in suggests nobody at Manchester United really has a clue what Ten Hag is asking for – or they do, and strongly disagree with it.

Manchester United must move on, and seemingly will

In our view, Manchester United have to move on from Ten Hag – regardless of whether he wins the FA Cup this season or makes the UEFA Champions League.

We are just days away from the two-year anniversary of his appointment at Old Trafford, although we are also no closer to seeing any genuine signs of progress.

Anything positive that has happened under the Dutchman in recent times has been born out of individual brilliance more than anything tactically cohesive.

Ian Ladyman of the Daily Mail believes Manchester United have already decided to sack Ten Hag – if that is the case, we strongly believe Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made the correct decision.
