Manchester United fans all over the globe are desperate to know what the future holds for Erik ten Hag.
Some want the Dutchman to depart after another questionable campaign in the Old Trafford dugout, which has been wildly inconsistent amid defeats to Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest, but wins over Liverpool and Chelsea.
On the other hand, some believe the man from Haaksbergen deserves a chance to work under the new regime, led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe with Omar Berrada in place as CEO following his move from Manchester City.
Now, an interesting claim has been made about Erik ten Hag at Manchester United by Ian Ladyman of the Daily Mail…
Erik ten Hag expected to leave Manchester United
Well, Ladyman – Football Editor at the Daily Mail – also hosts the It’s All Kicking Off podcast alongside Chris Sutton.
When the pair spoke about Ten Hag on that exact podcast, an interesting comment was made.

Ladyman said: “Ten Hag (his future) is no longer in the balance, as far as I am aware or as far as I understand.”
Sutton was somewhat taken aback by that claim, as he quipped: “What do you know, is he off then, is this an exclusive?”
Ladyman replied: “I think Ten Hag will go, yes, and I think he knows deep down as well.”
There you have it.
While Ladyman is not exactly the closest source to Manchester United, he is still a leading journalist and editor for one of England’s largest news outlets, so he is certainly someone worth listening to.
On borrowed time
In truth, it would be more of a shock if Ten Hag ended up staying at Old Trafford – we’re actually somewhat surprised he’s still currently in place.
The Red Devils have endured some humiliating defeats so far this season, including a 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford, and a 2-1 loss to Fulham in the same venue, which was once a daunting place for opponents.
There was also a 1-0 defeat to Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, a shock 4-3 collapse against Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League, before another disintegration by the same scoreline against Chelsea.

In previous years, even one or two of these results would have seen Ten Hag sacked at Manchester United, let alone this many.
Decision makers at Old Trafford are believed to be becoming more and more tempted to hire Julian Nagelsmann – according to the Independent – while ESPN have also named Gareth Southgate and Roberto De Zerbi as potential appointments.
Whatever happens at Manchester United this summer, it seems Ten Hag will not be around to take part.
