Manchester United fans react as club reportedly eye Rangers wonderkid
Rangers defender Nathan Patterson is reportedly the subject of interest from Manchester United – and United fans have reacted on Twitter.
Patterson, 19, has broken into the Rangers senior side during Steven Gerrard’s reign and in his 20 first-team outings – has sparkled for the Gers.
His form has even seen him break into the Scotland side, earning a place in Stevie Clarke’s Euro 2020 squad. Now, he is attracting attention.
A report from 90Min state that Man United and Everton are keen on luring Patterson to the Premier League. Everton had bids rejected in the summer.
Back in the summer, The Sun said bids would have to exceed £10million for Rangers to be tempted into the sale of Patterson. His deal lasts until 2024.
What do Manchester United fans think of Rangers star Patterson?
Patterson might not have played as many games as he would have liked following his breakthrough. That is down to skipper James Tavernier.
Unfortunately for Patterson, Tavernier is arguably the club’s best player – regularly scoring and creating goals for the blue half of Glasgow.
It has left Patterson on the bench a lot of the time. But when given the chance, he has impressed – laying on an assist against Hibernian on Sunday.
United need cover on the right side of the defence, with Diego Dalot not deemed good enough to provide back-up to Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Manchester United fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports, that they want Rangers star Patterson. Many think he would be a top addition.
