Josko Gvardiol is a name that seems to crop up every transfer window and he’s being mentioned again today in links to Manchester City.

According to respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, City will move for another defender once Nathan Ake completes a move to Chelsea. And on the list of names Pep Guardiola is looking at, Gvardiol features. Taking to his Twitter account today, Romano revealed Gvardiol is being eyed by Pep and City as they continue to shape their squad.

Of course, Gvardiol is more known during this transfer window for his links to Tottenham. it was only last month that reports claimed Spurs could be about to smash their transfer record to sign the Croatian star. As we know, nothing has moved on that front since, with Tottenham signing other players instead.

Described by Jesse Marsch as an ‘amazing‘ player, Gvardiol is seen as one of the very best young central defenders on the continent. It’s widely accepted that whoever manages to sign him from Leipzig, will be getting a fine player for years to come.

Whether or not City’s interest will spark a revival from Tottenham, remains to be seen.

TBR’s View: Gvardiol Will Be Brilliant At Tottenham Or City

There is no doubt that whoever gets their hands on Josko Gvardiol will be doing themselves a brilliant piece of business, even if the fee is a huge one.

Gvardiol has already shown his class over in Germany and there is no doubting he can produce in England.

For Man City, the chance to sign one of Europe’s best as they get £40m for Ake might be too tempting. But Tottenham have tracked him for a while, so Fabio Paratici will no doubt be an interested party here as well.
