Manchester City fans react as Pep Guardiola reportedly offered World Cup winner

French newspaper L’Equipe claim that Manchester City have been offered the chance to sign Barcelona playmaker Antoine Griezmann. Barcelona are desperately trying to bring in some much-needed cash at the Nou Camp. Griezmann has been told he can go, and Manchester City fans have reacted.

Griezmann, 30, was excellent for Barcelona in his second season at the club – having a hand in 33 goals during 51 league and cup appearances. Scoring 20, he laid on 13 assists. A vast improvement on his first season in which he only scored 15 and created four more. But Barca need cash.

What have Manchester City fans said about Griezmann?

Having signed Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay, L’Equipe report – as per GFFN – that they need to get some big earners off the books. With Depay and Aguero now options in attack, getting rid of an attacker makes sense. Barca have given City the option of Griezmann. Tottenham could also sign him.

Marca claim that he earns £395,000 a week at Barcelona, with three years left on his contract. Despite City’s riches, the chances are he might have to reduce his pay. Manchester City fans have taken to Twitter upon hearing the news that they had been offered Griezmann, it is a mixed reaction.
