Manchester City fans react as club weigh up midfielder move, has nine goals in 10
Christopher Nkunku is attracting reported interest from Manchester City ahead of the January window – and City fans have reacted on Twitter.
Nkunku, 23, is in red-hot form for Leipzig this season. Being moulded into an attacking midfielder, he has already scored 10 goals in just nine games.
The ex-PSG man netted a hat-trick against Manchester City in the 6-3 win over the German side. He has also netted back-to-back braces in the league.
Little surprise, then, that bigger clubs are beginning to become interested. Marca rate the Frenchman at a bargain £36.75million fee, before January.
A report from Foot Mercato says three clubs are pursuing a move for the versatile ace – Manchester City being one. Chelsea, Real Madrid are keen
What do Manchester City fans think of Leipzig superstar Nkunku?
Having watched him up close and personal, Pep Guardiola clearly feels the need to bring a talent like that to the Etihad.
He would offer City plenty of quality in attacking midfield, but given the amount of talent City have there – he might need to rely on something else.
Of course, Nkunku’s versatility allows him to play deeper – much like Bernardo Silva, or on both flanks. Even, as a right wing-back at times.
His age, and price tag, will surely convince more as he continues to find the back of the net. His set-piece ability will also prove tempting for Guardiola.
Manchester City fans are all for the idea of adding Nkunku to the squad, with January now less than three months away.
