Manchester City fans react as Atletico Madrid are linked with Bernardo Silva

Manchester City star Bernardo Silva is being linked with Atletico Madrid – and some City fans have responded on Twitter by claiming there is no way they should allow him to leave the Etihad Stadium.

France Football reports that Atletico are looking to improve in the transfer window after winning the La Liga title in Spain.

Atletico manager Diego Simeone reportedly wants to try bring the Man City ace to the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, and they could try use their good relationship with Silva’s agent Jorge Mendes.

Silva, who joined Man City back in 2017, is one of numerous star-studded names in Pep Guardiola’s squad.

The left-footed creator has the versatility to play pretty much anywhere across the midfield or attack, and it’s so hard for opponents to pick up on the pitch.

He’s now a three-time Premier League winner and has been a genius signing from Monaco. Additionally, his £43million transfer fee looks a massive bargain.

Manchester City should reject Atletico interest in Bernardo Silva

Atletico are yet to make a formal approach for Silva, but Man City should squash any talks immediately if they come.

The Portuguese playmaker is such an eye-catching players that fits Guardiola’s mould. Fortunately, he’s still under contract with the Manchester giants until 2025.

A selection of Man City supporters on social media agree selling him would be wrong.

Firstly, they believe he’s still a vital part of the Guardiola XI. Secondly, they don’t feel it’s realistic that they would grant his exit. Finally, he’s a massive favourite that has been so successful with them so far.

He finished this season with five goals and nine assists in 45 games.
