Son Heung-min scored the only goal of the game on Sunday evening as Tottenham produced a tactical masterclass to beat Manchester City. His gorgeous curling effort with his weaker left foot was the difference. Manchester City fans have raved about Tottenham star Son on Twitter.

It is no surprise to City fans, though. Son, 28, has a knack of scoring goals against City in recent seasons. Playing eight times against Pep Guardiola’s side since the start of the 2018-19 campaign, Son has scored a hugely impressive six goals – including a brace in the 4-3 Champions League win.

He proved thd difference on Sunday again. Spurs set up perfectly. Getting behind the ball, the hard-working midfield of Dele Alli, Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg cast a wide net. The front three of Son, Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura played very centrally without the ball.

But when they regained possession, Spurs broke with incredible pace. The attacking trio of Bergwijn, Moura and Son got Spurs up the pitch and then the ball-playing midfield of Alli, Skipp and Hojbjerg allowed Spurs to keep it when in possession. Eventually, Son cut inside, scoring a delightful effort.

Spurs did it without Harry Kane. Son was the spearhead in Kane’s absence and Manchester City fans have lauded the South Korea skipper.
