Maddison sends Manchester City ace Sterling six-word message after England victory
James Maddison has praised Manchester City ace Raheem Sterling, following his performance for England last night.
The winger, who is yet to sign a new deal with City, was in red-hot form for the Three Lions, winning the penalty for Harry Kane’s winner.
He has enjoyed a brilliant competition and is arguably the nation’s player of the tournament. Sterling scored the winner in two of the three group games to help England qualify for the knockout rounds.
In a tweet on his Twitter account, the Leicester ace claimed the 27-year-old was ‘unplayable’ as he lauded his display.
Raheem was unplayable tonight. Outstanding performance @sterling7 👏🏼🏴— James Maddison (@Madders10) July 7, 2021
Sterling fighting greater cause amid Maddison comments on England display
Think back to the start of the European Championship.
The beginning was full of talk about players taking the knee before the group games. It was a gesture that was booed by some of the Wembley Stadium support.
A couple of weeks on, it seems fitting that the City ace has been the nation’s player of the tournament.
Sterling has been fighting a greater cause with his performances for England amid the praise from Maddison.
From booing to a sense of delirium as the nation stood together to celebrate England’s first major final in 55 years.
The 26-year-old can be proud of his efforts on the pitch and in fighting racism at the same time.
