Manchester City will reportedly discuss a new contract with Raheem Sterling after Euro 2020.

According to the Daily Mail, the Premier League champions will hold talks with the England star once the summer competition comes to an end. Sterling has been the Three Lions’ top-scorer in the tournament with three goals in four matches.

As per the report, City are ‘calm’ about Sterling’s situation. The 26-year-old winger has two years remaining on his current deal with the club.

There have been rumours this summer, though, that the attacker could leave the Manchester giants.

Whilst Sterling statistically impressed last season for the Cityzens, fans and pundits have not been impressed with the former Liverpool star.

Moreover, the winger was criticised heavily for his poor performance in the UEFA Champions League final against Chelsea.

Indeed, some supporters on social media are in shock as to why the club want to hold contract talks with Sterling this summer. The attacker scored 14 goals and assisted a further 12 in all competitions last season for City.

Here’s what some City fans had to say on Twitter about the club potentially offering the England star a new deal this summer…

Sterling was one of England’s heroes at Wembley this week as the forward scored the opening goal in a 2-0 win over international rivals Germany, booking the British side’s place into the quarter-finals against Ukraine.
