Liverpool completed the biggest transfer of the summer on deadline day as they signed Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.
Isak joined Liverpool in a British-record deal on the final day of the transfer window, and excitement is already palpable around what the Swede can achieve at Anfield.
Isak is arguably the best striker in the world, and speaking on The Athletic FC Podcast, Louis Saha has made a very exciting claim about the striker.
According to Saha, Isak is similar to Thierry Henry in that he can create his own chances, while, according to the pundit, Isak is already better than Henry in one key area.

Alexander Isak is better than Thierry Henry in the air
Saha spoke about Isak after signing for Liverpool.
The Frenchman compared the striker to Thierry Henry, while he went on to say that Isak is actually better than Henry in the air.
“I think that’s the type of player he looks like. I think this comparison has been done before. Thierry Henry, who is capable of scoring his own goals,” Saha said.
“Yeah, he definitely has the kind of like really big eyes for goals. He’s probably better in the air than Thierry. But yes, in terms of attributes, yes, but in terms of attributes, he is skilful, his link up play is good, he knows how to spin off and can keep the ball and suck the opposition in.”
Alexander Isak headed goals compared to Thierry Henry
Saha says that Isak is better than Henry in the air, but the Swede is hardly a brilliant aerial threat.
Indeed, despite standing 6 ft 4, Isak’s record of scoring headers in his career isn’t great.
Isak has only scored 12 headers in his career so far.
Meanwhile, Henry only managed 22 headers, but he played a lot more games than Isak has so far.
| Thierry Henry | Alexander Isak | |
| 794 | Club games | 324 |
| 360 | Club goals | 144 |
| 22 | Headed goals | 12 |
| 0.027 | Headed goals per game | 0.04 |
The numbers show that Isak is better than Henry in the air, but only marginally, and that isn’t what the striker’s big strength is.
Liverpool haven’t signed Isak for his aerial prowess, that’s for sure.
