It earned him a spot in the Euro 2020 squad and he started the opening game against Turkey.
TBR View: Locatelli transfer would solve many problems for Arsenal
Last season prove a horrible campaign for the Gunners. And part and parcel for their struggles were their deficiencies in midfield.
A transfer of Locatelli could help Arsenal fix all their issues next season.
The central player has burst on to the Italian top-flight, making a great impression.
His all-around ability and age make him a phenomenal candidate to replace Granit Xhaka.
The Switzerland international is close to leaving north London with Roma in advanced talks over a transfer. And with his performances last term, he requires a good replacement
Locatelli averaged more passes per game than Swiss ace. He was one of the key ball-players for his side, completing the second-most passes.
Arteta has relayed his keenness to press high and win the ball back further up the pitch. In Locatelli, he has a better overall midfield target, who would prove a great replacement for the 28-year-old.
