Liverpool are looking to strengthen the ranks further and could make a move for Dutch defender Jeremie Frimpong, according to reports.
Frimpong has long been considered a target for English clubs. The summer months saw Arsenal linked with a move for the full-back, who eventually stayed with Bayer Leverkusen.
Since then, under the guidance of Xabi Alonso, Leverkusen have flown to the top of the Bundesliga and have yet to lose a game this season.

However, their form means interest in their best players was always likely and according to Depor, Frimpong is being targeted by Liverpool, Real Madrid and Chelsea. He is valued at at least the £35m mark.
Depor claims the Reds have decided to enter the bidding for Frimpong as they look to snap up a new right-back to help Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Liverpool to bid for Jeremie Frimpong
The Reds have never had a real need to sign a new right-back but with Trent Alexander-Arnold moving further forward this season in particular, it seems like a new full-back is being looked at.
Such has been Trent’s impact in moving into midfield that Klopp clearly sees value in adding another right-back to the squad and Frimpong ticks a lot of boxes.
Regarded as a ‘special‘ talent by Alonso, the 22-year-old has recently been called up to the Dutch national team alongside Liverpool skipper, Virgil van Dijk.
Frimpong would bring the exciting qualities a lot of modern full-backs have in the locker. Searing pace, a willingness to attack, and athleticism to get up and down the line make Frimpong a fine option.
