Liverpool fans think Danny Ings signing could now help them get £33m striker, reportedly wanted at Anfield
Liverpool are reportedly looking at Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins. The England international was brilliant in his first season in Premier League football – and reports earlier this summer suggested Liverpool were keen. Now, Liverpool fans think Danny Ings could help them get Watkins.
Watkins, 25, scored 14 Premier League goals following his £33million (Athletic) move from Brentford. His form saw him even make his England debut, scoring in a 5-0 win over San Marino. But his goals have not only attracted England, but Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool too.
What have Liverpool fans said about Villa star Watkins, as Ings joins?
Goal said in July that Liverpool were looking at Watkins as the Reds look to bring in a replacement for Divock Origi. The Belgian remains at Anfield, but if a decent offer comes in for the ex-Lille striker – he will leave. So, Liverpool need cover and Watkins is a player on their shortlist this summer.
Now, ex-Liverpool striker Ings has moved to Aston Villa in a surprise move for £30million. The move came out of nowhere amid reports that Jack Grealish is on his way to Manchester City. But with Ings joining Villa, Liverpool fans reckon it could help them get Watkins this summer.
