Report: Klopp now wants to sign striker who scored four goals against Liverpool last season
Liverpool like the look of Ollie Watkins at Aston Villa, as they eye up two signings this summer, Goal.com says.
Liverpool have already brought in Ibrahima Konate, but are now tracking both a midfielder and a striker.
Goal now says that Watkins is a name on Liverpool’s wishlist, alongside Wolves winger Pedro Neto.
Watkins and Neto, of course, play rather different roles – so it seems that Jurgen Klopp is just seeking a general upgrade to his front three, rather than an addition in a specific position.

Difficult to complete
It must be noted that any move for Watkins would appear to be particularly difficult to pull off.
Villa have shown great ambition this summer and would surely be keen to keep hold of their top scorer from last campaign, after his excellent first season in the Premier League.
Watkins actually was a real tormentor for Liverpool last season, as he scored a hat-trick in Villa’s famous 7-2 win against Jurgen Klopp’s side. He also scored in Villa’s game at Anfield later on in the campaign.
Klopp actually labelled Watkins as a ‘good signing’ (Liverpool Echo) towards the back end of last season, and it seems that the Reds now have a firm eye on him.
If Watkins was to move to Liverpool it would actually be very intriguing to see how he would be deployed.
Klopp is a huge fan of Roberto Firmino, but the Brazilian’s goalscoring really slowed last term, and that may have led to Liverpool wanting a more natural goalscorer to lead their line, as they look to regain their Premier League title.
