Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Denis Zakaria reports

A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports claiming that the Reds now lead the race to sign Denis Zakaria.

Zakaria looks set to leave Borussia Monchengladbach in either the January transfer window or the summer. His contract is up next year. And he has reportedly made it clear that he is not signing an extension.

The 25-year-old is enjoying a superb season in the Bundesliga. He is one of the league’s best players in terms of his pass-completion rate. Meanwhile, he is third for most dribbles completed per 90 minutes.

Unsurprisingly, given his contract status, he is attracting a lot of attention. Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus all want the Swiss.

But Zakaria reportedly dreams of playing in the Premier League. And he would love to have the chance to play under Jurgen Klopp, leaving Liverpool in pole position for his signature.

The report notes that he could cost as little as £6.8 million should he leave in January. And with that, plenty of Liverpool fans feel that it is a no-brainer for their club.

The Reds do need more depth in the middle of the park. And several have suggested that he would provide some real cover and competition for Fabinho.
