Liverpool fans react as Tottenham reportedly push for Yves Bissouma signing

Tottenham are reportedly pursuing a deal to sign Brighton’s Yves Bissouma before the deadline – and Liverpool fans are frustrated on Twitter.

Bissouma, 25, has been constantly linked with a move to one of the Premier League’s bigger clubs this summer. Liverpool have been among those clubs.

But the chances of Mali international Bissouma joining Liverpool look slim at this moment in time – with Liverpool refusing to spend big amounts.

Instead, it looks clear that the only club Bissouma could join before Tuesday’s deadline is the current leaders of the Premier League – Spurs.

A report from the Sunday Mirror (29/8; page 66), claims Tottenham have made an enquiry to Brighton over a move for £40million-rated Bissouma.

What are Liverpool fans saying, as Tottenham eye Bissouma?

Liverpool need a midfielder. The Reds have lost Gini Wijnaldum and Xherdan Shaqiri, while Aston Villa want to buy Curtis Jones before Tuesday.

They need another player in the middle of the park and Bissouma is a name that has been regularly linked with a move to Anfield this summer.

But Tottenham could also do with a midfielder, despite signing Pape Sarr from Metz. Spurs have allowed Metz to keep Sarr on loan for 21-22.

Spurs have sold Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks could leave, too. Oliver Skipp, Dele Alli and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are currently first choice.

Skipp was excellent against Man City but it is fair to say his performances since have been good, but not great. Bissouma is an improvement.

Understandably, Tottenham are keen. Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to reports that Tottenham want Bissouma this summer.
