Liverpool are reportedly interested in raiding French club Rennes for winger Jeremy Doku this summer. A report says that the Belgium Euro 2020 sensational could be ‘on his way’ to Anfield in the coming weeks. Liverpool fans have took to Twitter, urging their club to sign Doku from Rennes.

Doku, 19, has been strongly linked with Liverpool for some time. Doku’s father, David, told Het Nieuwsblad – as per Goal – in 2020: “Klopp explained how he saw a potential successor to Sadio Mane in Jeremy.” Now, a report from Voetbal 24 says he could be about to join Liverpool this summer.

What are Liverpool fans saying on Twitter about Rennes ace Doku?

Liverpool need an option out wide. Xherdan Shaqiri is the subject of an offer from French side Lyon. So, he needs replacing. Harvey Elliott is shining in pre-season and he can be cover for Mo Salah. Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino are fighting to start up top. Mane needs cover.

Given that Klopp feels Doku could be a back-up and a ready-made, long-term replacement for Mane – Liverpool have got to move. The report claims that Doku is rated at £38million by Rennes and they are unwilling to accept offers below that fee. Liverpool fans have urged their club to sign Doku.

They may struggle to get him this summer, though, given Doku signed a five-year contract at Rennes for a fee of £22million (GFFN).
