Liverpool fans rave about 26-year-old’s performance in pre-season victory

Liverpool beat Italian opposition Bologna in a 60-minute pre-season friendly on Thursday afternoon – and some Reds fans on Twitter loved the performance of their star Naby Keita.

The Merseyside club continued pre-season with a 2-0 victory. It’s the first of two 60-minute friendlies against Bologna today.

Jurgen Klopp’s first XI that were in action looks extremely close to what could start the opening day of the league season, barring possibly a couple of changes.

Senior attackers Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane were both on the scoresheet. Jota’s goal came as a result of high pressing, while his teammate cooly rounded the goalkeeper to add a second.

Will Naby Keita reward the faith of Liverpool fans this season?

A selection of Liverpool supporters on social media picked out their midfielder Keita as a big positive during the one hour match.

The 26-year-old has really underwhelmed since he started playing at Anfield three years ago.

He’s not lived up to the hype of an attacking box-to-box midfielder, so has mainly found himself out of Klopp’s best side. However, Georginio Wijnaldum’s summer exit has opened the door. 

It looks like during this pre-season Keita is determined to make the most of an opportunity and some of the fanbase feel he’s putting together a compelling case to play a key role in the upcoming campaign.
