Football journalist Ben Jacobs has suggested that Liverpool could make a late move to sign reported Arsenal target Youri Tielemans following their defeat at Old Trafford last night.
The Gunners have long been linked with a move for the Leicester City man, who has entered the final year of his contract. Arsenal fans would love Tielemans at the Emirates, but Mikel Arteta and co haven’t made their move just yet.
Liverpool could make a ‘late-window bid’ to sign Arsenal-linked Youri Tielemans
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have had a shocking start to the season. They have just two points on the board after three games, which is something nobody would’ve predicted before the start of the campaign.
The Reds took on Manchester United last night and they were really poor, especially in the first half. Their midfield was almost non-existent, and Erik Ten Hag’s men outran them in the middle of the park.
Every Liverpool fan would love a new midfielder at Anfield before the window shuts, and Jacobs has now suggested that Klopp could well make a late-window bid to sign Tielemans.
However, the journalist has also claimed that the £30 million-rated midfielder wants to join Arsenal this summer.
Jacobs claimed last night: “As an aside, Arsenal better hurry if they want Youri Tielemans. Wouldn’t remotely surprise me if Liverpool change their stance and consider a late-window bid.
“Tielemans still wants Arsenal and a move remains very possible. #LCFC braced for offers.”

TBR View:
It really is a surprise that Tielemans is still on the market.
The transfer window opened over two months ago and many believed the Belgian would be among the first to be on the move. Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign him for months now, but for whatever reason, they haven’t made their move yet.
That could open the door for other clubs to come in for Tielemans, and Liverpool – who are in desperate need of a top-quality midfielder – could well be the ones in the coming days.
It will be interesting to see how this pans out, but if Arsenal really want Tielemans, they should hurry up.
