If reports are true, Liverpool are about to shock everyone with move for rapid £70m international - TBR View

For months now, the talk around Liverpool has been that the club will move for Borussia Dortmund and England star, Jude Bellingham.

Just this week, Jamie Carragher was speaking about how Liverpool need Bellingham. The former Reds star explaining how Bellingham is everything the Reds need right now.

“Liverpool hopefully. I know he’s a Liverpool fan. I think he’s a player who Real Madrid will want, Barcelona will want, every top club in England will want. Him and Rice is England’s midfield for the next five or six years. I don’t think anyone’s looking at them and thinking they’re going to take those positions to be honest. And they’ll probably both be fighting over who’s the future captain after Harry Kane,” Carragher told The Eleven.

“Jude Bellingham reminds me of Steven Gerrard at that age where you think he could score a goal at anytime, create something at any time. He could light up that tournament.”

However, while a midfielder might be on the agenda, reports surfacing from Italy suggest different.

As reported on TBR today, Gazzetta dello Sport claims Liverpool and Manchester United are fans of Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen. And if that is true and Liverpool do make a move, it will send shockwaves through the PL.

Victor Osimhen to Liverpool would be next level

Make no mistake, Liverpool still need a midfielder signing. Bellingham is ideal as Carragher says. But with talk of a potential sale from FSG, other signings could be being eyed as well.

If one of those is Osimhen as reports suggest, then Liverpool fans can be excited. Remember, this is a player who tore them to shreds earlier this season in Europe. At the time, Jonathan Woodgate commented on that performance and how Liverpool’s defenders will have been delighted to see the back of the striker.

“The two centre-halves will be absolutely delighted to see the back of Osimhen because he’s been so difficult to play against it. He’s destined for the Premier League,” he told BBC Sport (7/9; 20:42).

Liverpool, then, would be a different animal with Osimhen involved. Sure, they splashed out on Darwin Nunez in the summer.

But Osimhen’s pace, size, athleticism, and the fact he is only 23, means he’d be some signing. Of course, Napoli paid £70m for him and would want a return.

However, if Liverpool want to put the league on notice and shock everyone, then signing Victor Osimhen is one way of doing just this.
