Liverpool are worried Jude Bellingham will end up at Manchester City - journalist
The teenager, branded as ‘incredible’, is arguably the most-wanted player in the world at the moment. He has been brilliant for Borussia Dortmund and was one of England’s best players at the World Cup as well.
Liverpool are desperate to sign him, but could Manchester City spoil the party?
Journalist says Liverpool are worried Jude Bellingham will end up at Manchester City
It is no secret at all at this point that Liverpool would love to sign Bellingham in one of the next two transfer windows.
However, Jones has revealed that there’s a chance Manchester City could swoop in and lure the midfielder away in 2023. He claims that Pep Guardiola’s side are growing in confidence about the same, which is why Liverpool are now being linked with other midfielders, like Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez.
The journalist told GiveMeSport: “It sounds like Liverpool would be willing to match or top any personal offer he (Enzo Fernandez) gets next, but at the end of the day, he still has a big release clause that needs to be met of over £100 million.
“This is at the same time as we are also hearing they want Bellingham, who is in excess of that figure too. It doesn’t add up, Liverpool don’t have that much money to spend on them.
“Maybe Liverpool fear that Bellingham is actually more likely to end up at Man City, who are growing in confidence they can get him.”
Manchester City have caused a lot of pain to Liverpool on the pitch over the last few years.
Guardiola is the reason why Jurgen Klopp hasn’t won more than just one Premier League title, and that may not change for a few more years now.
Manchester City already have the best team in the country and the addition of Erling Haaland in the summer took them to a whole new level. Now, it looks like they have their eyes set on Bellingham, who would make them even stronger than they already are.
That would be a real shame for Liverpool, who have wanted Bellingham for so long.
