Report: Liverpool keen on signing the 'new Wayne Rooney', he's been branded as 'unbelievable'

Liverpool are among a cluster of clubs including Manchester United and Manchester City who are watching Arsenal’s teenage star, Ethan Nwaneri.

The 15-year-old remarkably made his debut for Arsenal this weekend as they swept aside Brentford to ensure they go into the international break top of the pile. Nwaneri was called up by Mikel Arteta on a gut feeling and the Spanish coach handed him a memorable moment against the Bees.

Of course, it was never going to take long for other clubs to notice Nwaneri and according to The Times, the Gunners know that the likes of Liverpool, United, and City are all watching on.

Whether or not Nwaneri continues to be given chances this season remains to be seen. The pressure on a 15-year-old’s shoulders is massive and Mikel Arteta will need to manage him carefully.

It’s clear as day that the Gunners see a huge talent in Nwaneri and it will be interesting to see how well he does throughout the rest of the season and his career.

Above all else, though, yesterday was a day that will live long in the memory of Nwaneri and his family. Whether or not he can resist the lures of Liverpool, City and United though, remains to be seen.
