Arsenal are reportedly in for a striker in January.
The likes of Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney have been linked within the Premier League, while Victor Osimhen has been linked as an option from Serie A.
Indeed, the Nigerian striker is said to be on Arsenal’s radar, but according to Steve Kay, speaking on KS1TV, there’s a striker in Italy who is more likely to join Arsenal than Osimhen in January.
Kay says that Dusan Vlahovic is someone that, unlike Osimhen, is a realistic target in January as he’s spoken to people close to Juventus who have told him that the Italian giants will have to sell a big player in January in order to balance their books.

Vlahovic more likely than Osimhen
Kay shared what he knows about the Juventus striker.
“Unlike Victor Osimhen, Vlahovic is possibly someone they could get in January. Juventus have to sell someone big in January. I’ve had conversations with people close to Juventus and fans of Juventus who have said they need to sell, Vlahovic is someone they could get good money for. It’s one to keep an eye on,” Kay said.
Worth waiting
Vlahovic may be more attainable than Osimhen in January, but if Arsenal are serious about levelling up their striking options, they should wait for the Napoli star in the summer.
There’s not much of a comparison to be made between these two.
Vlahovic scored just 10 league goals in Serie A last term, while Osimhen banged in 26. Yes, Vlahovic would be the short-term solution, but when has Mikel Arteta ever made a signing to plug a gap for such a short space of time before?
There’s a lot to like about Vlahovic. After all, he’s a ‘lightning’ striker, but Osimhen is quite clearly a class above and worth waiting for even if that deal is only doable in the summer.
